A series of emails obtained by the New York Post were published on Wednesday that suggest Hunter Biden introduced his father Joe Biden to a top executive at Ukrainian energy firm Burisma. Less than a year later, Vice President Biden reportedly pressured Ukraine officials into firing a prosecutor who was investigating Burisma. Hunter Biden was also a member of the the firm’s board during his father’s time as US vice president. This comes after Joe Biden was accused by President Donald Trump of improperly helping his son’s business interests in Ukraine.
A “smoking gun email” obtained by the New York Post shows Joe Biden lied when he said he’s “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”
According to an email dated April 17, 2015, Biden, who was then the sitting vice president, met in person with Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma.
Bursima is the sketchy Ukrainian energy company that put Hunter Biden on its board and paid him a reported $50,000 a month — a month! — even though Hunter has no known energy sector experience and doesn’t speak any of the languages spoken in that country.
The date of the email is important. The meeting between Pozharskyi and the then-vice president would have taken place eight months before Biden threatened to withhold U.S. aid from Ukraine unless the country agreed to fire a prosecutor who was looking into Burisma. The prosecutor was fired.
In 2018, Biden bragged to the Council on Foreign Relations about how he got the prosecutor fired.
“I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a bitch. He got fired.”
And the investigation into Burisma was shut down.
“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” the smoking gun e-mail from Pozharskyi reads.
This isn’t the first piece of evidence that proves Joe Biden lied when he claimed “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.” full story
NY Post: Biden’s Son Introduced Him to Ukraine Energy Official

Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, introduced him to a senior official from a Ukrainian energy firm that became the focus of controversy over the dismissal of a prosecutor who was investigating the company, the New York Post reported Wednesday, citing an email it said came from Hunter Biden.
Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board at Burisma, thanked Hunter Biden in an April 2015 email for inviting him to Washington and “giving an opportunity to meet your father,” about a year after then then vice-president’s son had joined the company, according to the Post. A May 2014 email also showed Pozharskyi sought advice from Hunter Biden on ways “you could use your influence” on Burisma’s behalf, the paper reported.
The Post claims the communication contradicts an assertion by Joe Biden that he hasn’t spoken to his son about his business dealings. But the email doesn’t detail the extent of the meeting or whether Biden spoke to his son about it. Bloomberg News hasn’t independently verified the authenticity of the purported emails.
The Biden campaign didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
President Donald Trump has charged that Joe Biden’s actions in Ukraine, in which he pushed for the dismissal of the country’s prosecutor general, were to benefit his son, Hunter. That claim has been widely debunked. In pushing for the firing of Viktor Shokin, Biden was acting in concert with official U.S. foreign policy and other allied nations who viewed Shokin as corrupt. full story
